BTL 2019 already has a date set

The Lisbon Tourism Fair, BTL, has already been scheduled. The largest event in the tourism industry will be held from 13 to 17 March 2019.

The International Tourism Fair/Lisbon Tourism Exchange will once again be held in March. he week from 13 to 17 March has been chosen by the organisers. From Wednesday to Sunday, thousands of professionals and curious onlookers will fill FIL, in Parque das Nações.

The programme for this edition has not yet been announced by the organisers. What is known are last year’s figures, and these are respectable.

According to the organisers, in 2018 more than 1,000 exhibitors were present and the attendance reached 77,000 people.

The number of visitors was divided into very similar parts between professional and non-professional audiences. Professional visitors numbered 39,000, while the general public turned up at the BTL totalling 33,000 people.

But the figures released by the BTL for 2018 are impressive. A total of 5,000 business meetings were held during the event which featured a total of 1150 exhibitors. All the regions of Portugal and 40 international destinations were shown at the Lisbon Tourism Exchange.

The Hostedbuyers programme – i.e. international buyers specifically interested in Portugal – was attended by 400 people. This programme is dedicated to players who are specifically invited by the organisation.

As we said, the programme for 2019 is not yet available, but we remind you that last year, in addition to the general activity of the fair, there was music, tastings and tastings, conferences and workshops open to those interested. In addition, the BTL promoted, as it has in recent years, an employability exchange in the sector and the entrepreneurship laboratory for new ideas for the sector, among others. And of course, there was another edition of the Blog Travel Awards, the most important award dedicated to tourism blogs in Portugal.

Last year, Pampilhosa da Serra was the invited municipality and in international terms, Morocco was the highlighted country.
