Coruche hosts hot air ballooning festival
Coruche receives between October 31 and November 4 the second edition of the International Ballooning Festival. There are 30 balloons in the air simultaneously and the opportunity to experience a balloon flight.
Among the dozens of balloons already confirmed, piloted by teams from all over the world, are some very original specimens with a special format, such as the incredible Dutch motorbike, 44 metres long, 38 metres high and weighing 650Kg, the diving man from Brazil, the Ice Cream from Germany, a dog or a doll. Get your camera ready, because this is a simply unique scenario.
During 5 days, visitors will be able to take free flights in the morning and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday also in the afternoon. Tickets should be purchased through the gift card Pack Portugal, and are also available on the Windpassenger website or at FNAC Portugal shops. The festival also offers the opportunity to try, free of charge, a climb in a static balloon. And if you have vertigo, just stay at the selfie zone, inside the Praça de Touros (bullring) in Coruche village where you can take your pictures and share with friends inside an inflated balloon.
Around the bullfight arenaça de Touros, the festival diversifies itself in an endless number of actions such as the Gastronomy Sessions, Street Food spaces, the Handicraft and Regional Products Fair, the Book Fair, exhibitions of several brands, activities and free entertainment for children.
Also integrated in the festival, the organisation recommends two Aeromodelling and Aeronautics workshops. Saturday, the 3rd, there will be a Walk of Ballooning, in the early afternoon and, at night, the Night Glow at Sorraia River Beach, a show of light and music with inflated balloons profiled on the ground, animated by DJ Paulino Coelho from Renascença Radio.
The realization of this event is fundamentally due to the support of Coruche Town Hall together with Windpassenger, which is once again responsible for the whole organization of the Festival.
