Seafood for all tastes in Matosinhos
The Senhor do Padrão Garden receives, until Sunday, the 2nd edition of the Fish and Seafood Festival of Matosinhos.
With free entrance, the festival celebrates the flavours of the sea in Matosinhos. Santola and clams, but also sea bass, sea bream and octopus, among others, are the kings of the feast. In the enclosure there are dishes for tasting and lots of music is promised, but the party extends beyond the Jardim do Senhor do Padrão. 70 restaurants have joined the initiative promoted by the local municipality.
There will be 20 exhibitors presenting fish, seafood and seafood gastronomic specialities. In addition to the tasting dishes available at the stands, the event will count on the participation of Matosinhos’ restaurants that, once again, will join this event. There are more than 70 participating restaurants with menus especially produced for the festival – a starter, a dish, a dessert and a glass of wine.
At the Fish and Seafood Festival there will also be a lounge area, live music and activities for children, where visitors can enjoy snacks in a relaxed atmosphere.
For wine lovers, there are several tastings in Matosinhos with commentaries by renowned oenologists included in the programme for this edition: “White Wines of the World” by António Braga (Sogrape), “The World of White Ports” by Oenologist and Winemaker Paulo Pinto (IVDP), “Soalheiro and the Alvarinhos de Guarda – 5 wines from the producer’s cellar which are more than 10 years old”, by Oenologist and Winemaker Luís Cerdeira, are just some examples.
